Established in 2007 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the United Auto Merchants Association (UAMA) assists in the development, growth, and stability of small to mid-size automotive repair / maintenance businesses by assisting them in;
• Achieving “Full Operating Compliance” with city, state and federal laws
• Developing their management practices and operating procedures
• Improving the overall knowledge and technical skills of their management and service personnel
• Ensuring increased career opportunities for current and future employees

UAMA is the only 501(c)(3) organization in the greater NYC Metropolitan area created to educate and aid in the development of small to mid-size automotive repair / maintenance businesses with an emphasis on Latino and minority owned businesses.
Serving as “The Bridge to a Productive Automotive Industry”, we developed and administer a Business Development Cycle (BDC) consisting of 3 phases: Compliance, Business Management, and Personnel Training, that ultimately leads to economic growth and job creation.
UAMA is the leading community based organization that helps auto related businesses secure all the necessary licenses, permits, certificates required to be in full operating compliance.
We offers unique Membership Services and Resources to meet the needs of small to mid-size automotive repair / maintenance business owners.
UAMA staff is fully committed to serving the automotive industry with the most professional, responsive and dedicated team. Our Services and Resources are provided to Members throughout New York City and its surrounding counties. Services and Resources are also available to Non-Members for a fee.
Through the Elite Auto Tech Training Center (EATTC), UAMA provides bilingual (English/Spanish) automotive repair / maintenance seminars for mechanics to obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification by preparing them to take and pass the ASE Certification exam.
UAMA – “Elite Auto Tech Training Center” (EATTC)
The EATTC conducts training seminars for mechanics on two levels; Basic and Advanced. The Basic level has 14 seminars that prepare mechanics to take and pass the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification exam. The Advanced level offers 24 seminars that further develop a technician’s skills in a variety of specialized auto industry service areas in preparation to take and pass additional ASE Specialized Certification exams.
